Project 6 is an award-winning voluntary sector drug and alcohol charity based in Keighley, West Yorkshire and Sheffield. Our core purpose is to provide opportunities and choices for individuals, families and communities to create meaningful and sustainable change in their well-being.
In partnership with Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Teaching Hospitals, this winter we are building on our current work to delivering support in hospitals. This will help to ensure that people can get the right support at the right time, as well as helping to raise awareness of alternatives to A&E.
We are looking for several posts to deliver this groundbreaking work and work as part of our Multi-Agency Support Team (MAST) – alongside Alcohol Liaison Nurses, personal support navigators, social workers and the wider urgent care team. The job will also include outreach, working with the community-based team to provide person-centred support within their own environment.
You will have experience of delivering alcohol support, be flexible, be passionate about supporting people to make changes and committed to partnership working.
This is a short-term contract so we need individuals to be available to start shortly after the interview date.
- To directly intervene with patients in a hospital setting to help them to address their problematic alcohol use and associated issues and so reduce their impact on health care provision.
- To provide support in the community for these patients, once discharged from secondary care, with the aim of helping them to make the positive lifestyle changes that will aid their recovery.
- To enable these patients to engage with mainstream services.
POST: Alcohol Specialist Intensive Support Worker
LOCATION: Based at Project 6, within service user’s homes and Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Hospitals on an outreach basis.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Deputy Director of Operations
HOURS: 36 hours per week - Fixed Term Contract until March 2020 depending on the start date
